About the Awards
As ELOG marks 15 years of safeguarding democracy, we honor individuals and organizations who have advanced electoral justice, civic responsibility, peacebuilding, and democratic reforms across Kenya and the region.
Gathaka Award
Honors the legacy of Ven. Jephthah Kiara Gathaka. Awarded to individuals or organizations that have shown enduring commitment to electoral justice, peacebuilding, civic education, and mentorship.
Electoral Cycle Champions Award
Recognizes institutions, organizations, or partners who strengthen democracy across the entire electoral cycle โ before, during, and after elections. Categories include ELOGโs 8 thematic areas:
- Voter Education
- Voter Registration
- Political Party & Campaign Financing
- Media Monitoring
- Legal Reforms
- Electoral Security
- Inclusion of Marginalized Groups
