Today’s lnternational Day of Democracy, which is celebrated globally, provides citizens and
governments with an opportunity to review the state of democracy around the world. We,
members of the CSO organizations under the banner of Uchaquzi Platform, have been
reflecting on the state of democracy here in Kenya and therefore wish to address the
following emerging issues and concerns:
The Process of Recalling an MP
ELOG has created a popular version of the processes of how to recall an MP dubbed ‘Ngatua Mbunge’
CSO_TWG RETREAT
Uchaguzi Platform with its partners convened a retreat with CSO_TWG on elections and electoral duty bearers to discuss the progress of the recommendations, and prioritize the achievable reforms ahead of 2027 general elections.
MALAWI REGISTRAR OF POLITICAL PARTIES LEARNING MISSION
ELOG met with the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties Malawi, currently on a learning mission to Kenya hosted by Office of the Registrar of Political Parties in Kenya. The mission focuses on knowledge sharing and peer learning to enhance best practices in regulating political parties.

The Election Observation Group (ELOG) Virtual School of Election (VSE) is an educational initiative aimed at providing training and resources to individuals interested in election observation, political campaigning, and related topics. It offers courses, workshops, and resources to enhance the capacity of stakeholders involved in electoral processes.
The course is open to individuals from diverse backgrounds, including aspiring political candidates, campaign managers and staff, activists, students studying political science or communications, volunteers, and anyone interested in understanding the dynamics of political campaigns and communication.
Yes, participants who successfully complete the course requirements, including assignments and assessments, will receive a certificate of completion from ELOG VSE. This certificate can serve as a recognition of your participation and achievement in the course.
